Connie Elizabeth Van Nes
Sept 2, 1966 – April 27, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Connie Elizabeth Van Nes on April 27, 2019.
Connie was born in Terrace, BC on September 2, 1966 and moved with her family to the Comox Valley in 1975. She graduated from Vanier Secondary School in Courtenay in 1984. After medical training in Nanaimo, she moved to Victoria where she began her career at LifeLabs. She transferred to the Duncan lab and has worked with the company for over 30 years.
She married Rod Van Nes in Victoria on Valentines Day, 1992. She is survived by her husband, Rod, and two sons, James & Justin, her parents Jack and Marilyn Lyons, her brother, David Lyons, and mother-in-law Jean Van Nes.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved her family, her pugs, and gardening in her peaceful back yard. In summer at dusk she would sit and watch the “light show” begin with her collection of pretty solar lights.
There will a Celebration of Life on Saturday June 15, 2019 at 11:00am, 3203 Gilana Place, Duncan B.C.

Dear Rod, Jamie and Justin. I was shocked and so saddened to learn of Connie’s passing. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I just saw her recently when I was at the lab. I worked with her for many years and loved her quiet manner and soft-spoken voice. I can’t believe she won’t be there anymore. She was very proud of her boys and her dogs. My deepest heartfelt sympathies to all of you.

Dear Rod, Jamie, and Justin – Connie was such a thoughtful person with the nicest smile. Every Christmas, family photos arrived in the card she sent. Connie will sadly be missed by all of us. I will never forget your support to Deb and Dave and myself when we lost Ken. Connie and yourself came to their house to be with all of us. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time. Love, Bonnie Skinner and fiancé Mike Mitchell.
