Relation: Friend
Tim lived across the street from me, but was so much more than a neighbour. Always there to help when needed, Tim took great delight in being of service and making the lives of others easier. He was soft spoken, never angry, and always kind.
He was also my friend.. We walked many miles together in a week, usually laughing (he had a wicked sense of humour) and sometimes arguing over something trivial. In this time, I got to know the truly special person that he was.
I miss you Timothy David Ellis, and will remember you with fondness always.

Relation: We worked together in Calgary in the 1970's and 1980's
Tim has been my good friend since 1978, so I feel sad that he has passed away at the age of 79. We met at Alberta Gas Trunk Line that became Nova an Alberta Corporation, then TCPL and finally TC Energy. When he lived in Calgary we used to run together and were close friends. I once sold Tim a house when I briefly worked as a realtor after being laid off from my engineering job! When he moved to Chemainus we stayed in touch and visited him once. Tim was kind, very smart, quiet but full of life! We had some good times together. After my wife Judy was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease, Tim would always send money for our annual fund raiser for Parkinson Association of Alberta. He never wanted a tax receipt so he would E-transfer the money and I would make his donation under my name. Judy and I send our condolences to his niece Jennifer Ranger and to all Tim’s relatives. I am sad to receive this news….

Relation: Neighbour
We have only been in the neighbourhood for the last 3 1/2 years but met Tim at a few of the neighbourhood get togethers. A very quiet soft spoken man and he will be missed by many. So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Regards from Don and Karen Porter

Relation: Friend and Neighbour
I met Tim shortly after I purchased my home across the street from him in 2016. He became both a collegial neighbour and a kind and caring friend. He was always quick to offer assistance when needed — such as driving me to an eye appointment, helping me shovel my driveway, and giving me a couple of old T-shirts for my Newfoundland dog to wear as a protective layer following his surgery.
What I most appreciated about Tim was his inquisitive and often comical impromptu chats that would arise when we were both working outside. He had a quick, dry wit and a very intelligent mind. Having recently moved, I have missed Tim’s camaraderie, and was so saddened to hear of his passing.
My thoughts are with his family now, as I know he will be fine. I sincerely hope our paths will cross again when my own time comes.
