Tribute
Tom slipped away from home to “Go Fishing” after a hard five month battle with cancer. He loved hunting, fishing and camping and was lucky to be able to do these things from an early age growing up in Chemainus with easy access to Copper Canyon. He met the love of his life at age 14 and they married 7 years later. Tom started work for BCFP Crofton Pulp and Paper in 1974 and retired as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. He worked with childhood friends and made many new friends there. His greatest memories are Port Renfrew in the old days, annual fishing trips with Craig and Wendy and being able to spend lots of time with his grandkids.
Predeceased by Parents Bill and Louise Jackson, brother in-law Owen Fransen and Siblings Bill, Pat, and Anne (Varcoe).
Surviving without him wife Gloria, sister Valerie (Paddy), daughter Tanya (Opie), son Kurt, beloved grandkids Jaeden, Adelyn and Vaughn.
In-Laws Rex (Anne), Louise (Cal), John (Chris), Sylvia (Ernie), Molly Varcoe, Herald Westendorp and many Nieces, Nephews and Good Friends.

Dear Gloria. I am so very sad to hear that Tom has passed away. . You know, he was one of my favorites and of course you would understand as a fellow health professional that there are just some people who steal your heart and make you laugh! Going to the dentist was definitely not the highlight of his day ! Tom reminded me so much of my brother who is a big guy too with a soft heart and gentle soul. And of course beside every good guy there is an amazing wife. I so enjoyed getting to know you and our talks about life’s ups and downs. I wish for you strength, love and peace through this challenging time. Roxanne
