Dear Daddy,

I miss you.

It has been the hard knowing you are gone. I’m so sad that you are not here, but sometimes I feel so cheated and angry about it too. We never had the life that a father and daughter should have had. We have both struggled, and so many circumstances kept us apart over the years. I don’t know how much of our lives we actually got to choose and how much of it was already predestined on path we could never get off of no matter how much we wanted to. There is a comfort in knowing where you are now, you already have all the answers to the questions, and I wish you could share them with me now, just so that I wouldn’t have to feel this way anymore…when the leaves of October 2023 fell around me….a reminder of just how delicate and short life is.

I will continue on my path, whatever that is for me, though the loss of you has forever changed me. I will remember you in the sound of the waves on the shore and the feeling of the sand between my toes, the smell of the meadow grass in the spring and the warmth of the sun on my skin, the feel of the rain and the whisper of the leaves drifting to the ground.

Come find me there, I will wait for you.

Love,

Patti

So sorry Pat that I never got to meet you in person. We were hoping to visit in Summer 2025, but time caught up with us – which teaches us that it never pays to put things off! Hopefully we will meet one day in a better place. Much love to the family during this sad time.
