Tribute

In Loving Memory of Pat Ormond

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved mother, Pat Ormond, on Dec 24th, 2024, at the age of 71. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will forever remain in our hearts.

Pat was born on April 30th, 1953, in Bromley, East London. She lived a life full of warmth and compassion, always putting her family and loved ones first. She was a devoted mother to Nikki Berti and cherished her with all her heart. Her nurturing spirit touched everyone she met, and her home was a haven for all who sought comfort and love.

A lifelong passion of cooking and baking fueled her, Pat also had a deep love for gardening, and devoted substantial time towards the Duncan Farmer’s Market. She was known for her fierce loyalty, strong will, and her love and devotion to her family, she will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Berti (Chris Berti), grandchildren Luca and Gabriella, brother, Chris Hobbs and her uncle Andy Downie and family. She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret and father Henry.

A funeral will be held on January 25th at H.W. Wallace Cremation & Burial, at 10 am with a reception to follow at the United Church from 11 am – 2 pm. The family invites friends and loved ones to join in remembering and celebrating the life of this extraordinary woman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Cowichan Hospice House in her memory.

Pat will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Sending love and condolences from Potlotek First Nation in Nova Scotia. I met Pat through Judee and Andy and spent several days with her and would occasionally email one another.
