Nirmal Thiara

January 1, 1930 - May 24, 2020

Tribute

Words cannot express our family’s sadness as we announce the passing of Nirmal Kaur Thiara. Born in 1930 in Punjab, India, she immigrated to Canada in 1955 and made her home in Lake Cowichan. She was pre-deceased by her husband Atma Singh and daughter Amarjit. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Parmjit and Lucky; daughter Jasbir (Rick); grandchildren: Allin (Astra), Janine, Aaron, Wesley, Stephanie (Phil), Jessica, Alexandria; great-grandchildren: Amethyst and Andronico; brother Gurbakhash Bains; and numerous relatives and friends. Mom’s greatest joy was her family. She was known for her big smile and singing at the Sikh temple. Special thanks to doctor Kubatskyy for his care and compassion. A private family service was held on May 29 at the Paldi Crematorium and Duncan Sikh Temple.
