Murray Stewart Thierauf

Tribute
It is with extreme sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Murray.
Predeceased by his Father Herbert Thierauf, Grandparents, and Cousin Paul Murray.
Murray is survived by his Mother Peggy Thierauf. Sister Cheryl (Darren) Jordan. Uncle Stewart Murray, Cousins Jason (Marlies) Murray, sons Jonathon & Josh, and Michael Murray. Aunt Gail (Tom) Hewitt. Cousins Warren (Janine) Hewitt, son Kyler, Kerri (Leo) Gillespie daughter Kaitlyn. Numerous relatives in Saskatchewan and England. Best friend Cam Rizzie and many other great friends.
Murray was raised in the Cowichan Valley. Graduating from CSS. He worked many years at Port Alice mill until it closed. Returning back to Duncan he worked as a flagger.
Murray’s passion was being a member of Cowichan Valley Amateur Radio Society. He made many great friends while volunteering at events: Ladysmith light up, organized races, and tower maintenance on Mount Brenton to name a few.

Murray was one of the best people I have known. Always there to lend a hand, lift spirits, and an all around good hearted person. Always a story to tell, and held his family and friends in such high regard taking nothing for granted.
My life has changed forever my friend and I’m sorry I never got to repaying that pizza you left out that Gotham (my dog) ate=). So many stories I wish I could share…

My deepest condolences on Murray’s passing. I am shocked, as I had seen and spoken to him recently. We attended Bench School from grade 1-7 and went to many birthday party’s together growing up. Murray and I always kept in touch over the last 30 years and had many conversations. I will remember Murray as a good friend and a hard worker.

We had the pleasure of working with Murray over the past few years. Murray was awesome in dealing with the safety and maintenance at Maple Grove Apartments, and truly cared about the safety of the residents and the building. Murray was always willing to help and share his knowledge – wonderful to work alongside. Murray was truly one of a kind who will be sadly missed by all at ASAP Fire Protection. RIP Murray.
