Lesley Stusek

October 12, 1964 - June 17, 2023

Tribute

It is with great sadness, that we announce the death of Lesley John Stusek on June 17 2023.

This gypsy soul was born in Canora, Saskatchewan on October 12, 1964, and as an adult, worked his way west through Canada, eventually settling in Duncan, BC.

John, as he was known through his adult life, was an entertaining and unpredictable child.

In particular, his mother, Joy, recalls that on one occasional, he brought several children home on the school bus, to celebrate his birthday at the family farm. Not to let the “Chief” down, Joy joined in on this random summer day, and created a party.

It was in John’s enduring nature to enjoy gatherings of friends and family and if possible, a large bush fire.

As an adult, John used his creativity and energy, to work in several different fields of employment. He was skilled with his hands, and loved woodworking and construction. John was a lover of traveling, mood lighting and alternative building techniques.

John is predeceased by his father, Jim Stusek. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Indigo Stusek, his mother, Joy Stusek, and his former spouses, Margarita Natavio and Suilven MacGregor.

He is also survived by Margarita’s sons, Michael Bailey and Matthew Halliday, his brothers, Stan Stusek(Lorelei), and Dave Stusek( Paula), as well as his three accomplished nieces, Jenna, Carmen and Ashley Stusek.

The family would like to acknowledge the enduring efforts of the local medical and mental health community for their care of John. In particular, his Family Physicians, Dr Graham Blackburn, and Dr Geoff Friedrichs.

A private celebration of life will be held for immediate family.  Condolences and tributes can be left at www.hwwallacecbc.com/obituaries/

And magnificently, we will float into the mystic – Van Morrison
