Tribute
In loving memory of Janice Monk (Markin) March 29, 1965 – February 16, 2015. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janice Monk after a short illness surrounded by her loving family. She will be forever loved and missed by husband Gord, daughter Nicole Westre (Evan), son Tony, parents John and Ilse Markin, sister Yvonne Madden (Al), brothers Darryl and Trevor, In-laws Eric and Mary Monk and numerous extended family members; including her many friends at Thrifty Foods in Mill Bay where she worked for the last 23 years. Janice was very proud of her children and was a very devoted wife and mother cheering from the stands or helping out at school. She was an avid Canucks fan, loved cooking and music and enjoyed any road trip as she was an excellent navigator. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on March 29, 2015 from noon to 3:00 pm at the Glenora Hall. 3660 Glenora Road, Duncan, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Canada Foundation or the Ricky Ryp Foundation for Mental Health Awareness.

Enid and I were really sorry to hear of Janice’s passing and our hearts go out to you as we know this must be a very difficult and sad time for you, Nicole and Tony.
We were such close friends growing up together and I feel it’s a shame that we’ve lost touch over these last few years, hopefully it won’t be so long before we next see each other.

I was so sorry to read of Janice’s passing. I was there when she began her career at Thrifty Foods and will always remember the time we spent sharing stories about our children, our families, life in general. Janice I can’t believe that you’re not in our world. It’s difficult being so far away from BC to actually get a sense of your passing. I have to say what’s in my heart. For what purpose were you taken from your family and all of us who knew and loved you? I just can’t understand it. You will be lovingly remembered. My heart is sad.
