James Gordon Greer
December 21, 1942 – August 22, 2018
Jim passed away peacefully at home, as he wished, on August 22, 2018,
with his wife, Trish and beloved dog Charlie at his side.
Born in Wainwright, Alberta, he was predeceased by his parents, Creighton and Hazel, sister Jeanie and brother Bill. Jim is survived by his wife Trish, brother Stuart (Kathy), and sisters, Coleen (Ron) and Dianne (Brian).
Jim will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by both his and Trish’s families as well as the many friendships he developed over the years.
He was a man of great integrity, spirit, courage, strength and humour; an avid and seasoned sailor, lover of classic vehicles and sports, football and golf in particular.
A huge thank you to Dr. Jan Malherbe and Dr. Willie Pewarchuk, both of Duncan, who were responsible for maintaining Jim’s quality of life for most of his six year cancer journey. Both Jim and Trish felt blessed to have these two amazing doctors in their corner.
There will be no service by request, but if you wish, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Jim’s name would be sincerely appreciated.

To Jim, the kindest, most gentle, dignified beautiful souls, rest in peace. Jim is no longer in pain and is at peace. To Trish, who so bravely fought this battle by Jim’s side, every day, be comforted in knowing you did everything and more, to make Jim’s difficult journey so much more comfortable. I know how you will miss Jim but remember, always, to be kind to yourself and remember how much you loved and how much you are loved.
