Tribute
Bell, Gordon Lennox, passed away July 29, 2013 in Saanich Peninsula Hospital after suffering a stroke. He was predeceased by first wife, Jessica, second wife, Nancy, and brother John. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Mackay, daughter, Dorothy Alexander (Steen), son John (Pauline), grandson Keith (Trisha), and great grandson, Kory.
Gordon served in the RCAF as a navigator on Lancaster bombers during the last years of World War II. Returning to Vancouver, he graduated from UBC in 1951 with a Masters degree in Palaeontology and pursued his passion for oil, gas, and coal exploration during his career.
Through his life, Gordon enjoyed the company of family, good friends, good dogs, skiing, reading, travelling, and his interest in all forms of energy, all with a keen sense of humour. He will be missed and fondly remembered by all those who met him.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held September 21, 2013 at the family home. Further details may be obtained from Dorothy at 250-748-7231 or Ellen at 250-655-6596.
