William Lloyd Talbot

May 28, 1931 - March 31, 2015

Tribute

We are sad to announce the passing of William Lloyd Talbot. Lloyd was an integral resident of the Cowichan Valley his entire life. Born May 28, 1931, he was predeceased by his wife Laverne Joan (Crabbe) and his son Robert Lloyd Talbot.

Lloyd spent many years employed by the City of Duncan. He also worked as a foreman for the Labourers of  Lake Cowichan Highway, participated in the construction of the Patricia Bay Highway and worked as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Duncan where he was always known to have a good laugh and to share a joke.

Lloyd and Laverne enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling, camping at Park Sands, driving to Alaska and bus tours to Reno. These were some of the adventures you would hear them speak of to their fellow Legion members. Lloyd will be missed by family and friends. Thank you to Cowichan Home Support and The Lodge on 4th for their care and dedication. Service will be announced at a later date.

H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre Staff send our condolences to family and friends.

From: Mr. and Mrs Gary and Pauline Jackson
Relation: He was a friend/coworker of Garys.

We would like to send our sympathies to the family. Dan, Debbie, Brenda and Darcy and another son. We Gary and Pauline Jackson are so very grateful for Lloyd. He was a lifesaver for Gary when he came personally to our home at one time and told Gary there was a job at the City works yard when we needed help. Our children were little at the time. Gary was looking for work.Lloyd always knew you when you met him on the street. Besides being a Duncan Firefighter, a former neighbour on Thirdth Street also, He was also very friendly and cheerful and always kind. We will miss you Lloyd as the Dairy Queen staff will also remember him as a patron coming in for coffee in the past in the local Dairy Queen. May you be with Laverne and Bob now and don`t forget that we will be soon coming to meet you all up there in that great kingdom of Heaven above. Until we see you again Lloyd. We will miss you, seeing you on your scooter motoring down the highway sideways.
