Alyce Ann Andison
April 24, 1923 - December 3, 2010
Tribute
Alyce Ann Andison (McLeod) Mom passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2010 with her sons by her side. Born April 24, 1923 in Happy Valley, Metchosin near Victoria, Alyce attended Victoria High School and served in the army during World War II (CWAC). After the war she worked for the Federal Department of Agriculture in Victoria which is where she met and married husband Harry in 1950. Born a McLeod, Mom was intensely proud of her Scottish heritage and passed this pride to her family. Her home was always well decorated with Scottish clan heraldry and images. Pre-deceased by husband Harry and her three sisters (Tena, Etta and Norma), Alyce is survived by her beloved dog Pasha, sons Glen and Fergie, daughter in law, Wendy, grandchildren Rebecca and Nigel and many nieces and nephews living on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and Interior of British Columbia. Mom resided most of her life in the Victoria area but began a new adventure choosing to be closer to family in Chemainus after Dad died in 1998. Here she continued with her art work and especially enjoyed her time and new found friends at the Chemainus Adult Day Care. The family would like to thank Agnes Olsen and Tia Baker, Dr. Manhas, and the staff at the Duncan Hospital and Chemainus Health Care Centre for their compassionate care. Mum and Dad will be buried together in Hatley Memorial Gardens. At our parents” request there will be no funeral service; a family gathering will be held in the new year.
