Peter Ringwall 1949-2025
Peter Ringwall died Jan 26, 2025 in his home in Crofton with his cat Tangerine, where he wanted to be.
He is survived by his nephew Mark Houghton-Brown of New Zealand and his cousins Janet Jones, Bryan Karney, Trish Hein and Ron Karney and their families.
Peter was in a bad car accident in 1986 which impaired his mobility, and soon after his move to Crofton in 2014 he needed to use a wheelchair. Despite mobility issues, he quickly fell in love with this quiet town on the ocean. His favourite places were cruising the boardwalk or taking his scooter up the steep roads on the mountainsides.
Many thanks to the staff at CDH for caring for him for most of his last month. Special thanks to Dr Gallagher and before him Dr Glenn Robinson for their care over the years. His friends Bryon Bastian, Cheryl Bastian, Walt Thiessen and neighbour Mike Harrison were really there for him as well.
There will be an informal celebration of life March 15 at Warmland church, 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Chemainus food bank or Cowichan cat rescue.

I miss getting his periodic texts checking in with me. He always wished for me to have another baby and it’s too bad he passed before this one came to be born. My condolences to the rest of those whose lives were impacted by Peter.
