Tribute

Dale Klassen 1953-2024

On Tuesday Dale passed after a short but valiant fight with cancer.  Dale is survived by his wife Neva, sister Shannon, brother Al, sons Kyle and Patrick, Grand Daughters Jamie and Ariel, Grandson Adam and Great Grandchildren Viola and Walter as well as Niece Victoria and others. Dale is predeceased by his parents Dick and Mildred Klassen.  Dale was born in 1953 in Taber, Alberta but spent most of his childhood in Luseland, Saskatchewan until he joined the army at the age of 17 and was part of the PPCLI (Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light infantry), while in the PPCLI Dale was transferred to Victoria and fell in love with the Ocean and Forests.  Dale started a family and settled in Caycuse/Camp 6 and worked briefly in the woods before taking a position as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic. Dale loved nature and being out in it, often found fishing /hunting or camping and on less fun occasions filling the truck with loads of firewood, of which there many. Dale enjoyed the experience of hunting and fishing and just being out in nature as well as sharing that with others, always making sure the freezer was full for family and friends alike.  In the early 2000’s Dale met and fell in love with Neva and were wed soon after to live happily for many years. Dale continued to work for various timber companies and eventually moved to operating a processing machine.  In retirement Dale looked forward to and enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places and things. Dale made friends easily and held no grudges, always there to help with a smile he lent his expertise and abilities to any task asked or offered, never one to rest on his laurels or do jobs in half measures Dale was always looking to make improvements, be it building his own garage or finding some interesting rocks for the front yard.  Dale had many friends and will be missed by all.
